Our Community

United by Service, Strengthened by Unity

At AAVS, “veteran” doesn’t just describe someone who served—it honors a global brotherhood and sisterhood forged in times of great challenge. Our community stands as a living tribute to those who answered the call to defend freedom, whether they wore the uniform of the United States or stood beside U.S. troops in distant corners of the world.

We believe that service has no borders, and that loyalty, courage, and sacrifice come in many forms. Our community is made up of individuals from all walks of life and from every continent—each connected by the noble mission of protecting lives, promoting peace, and fighting for democratic ideals. It’s this shared mission that binds us.

This is a place where former soldiers, interpreters, mechanics, diplomatic staff, logistics workers, and military families find more than just a community - they find home. Whether you were stationed in Fallujah or supported the mission in Sarajevo, whether you flew in American aircraft or served under a NATO flag, or whether your contribution came through unwavering support as a spouse or a civilian, your story matters here.

We celebrate the deep bond that forms when people of different nations unite for a cause greater than themselves. From the jungles of Vietnam to the mountains of Afghanistan, the deserts of Iraq to the hills of the Balkans, thousands stood together. At AAVS, we recognize and honor every one of those stands.

Our community is growing, and we are proud to provide a space where stories are shared, sacrifices are acknowledged, and support is offered without conditions or judgments. Here, we foster healing, build friendships, and encourage the next generation to understand what unity truly looks like.

You Belong Here

No matter your background, if you’ve shared in the mission of defending freedom alongside U.S. forces or supported those who have, this is your place. We welcome:

  • Allied Veterans who now live in the United States and continue to live by the values they upheld in service.
  • American Veterans who remember the friendships and alliances forged abroad.

  • Supporters, families, and advocates who believe that honoring veterans is not just an American tradition - it’s a human one.

Explore the sections below to learn more about how each group contributes to the heartbeat of AAVS. Each one plays a vital role in this powerful, unified force for remembrance, respect, and renewal.

Together, we are more than just veterans.

We are allies, protectors, advocates, and family.
